St. Vincent De Paul - in a state of abandonment. #chelsea #lowermanhattan #nyc #Neoclassical building completed in 1869. construction was interrupted during the civil war. Back then a hub of French community in the city. Closed in 2013 inspite of a prolonged battle to save the church. According to the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the building was designed by a little-known #architect and lacked architectural distinction. Couldn't get a glimpse of the opulent interiors.
